バトラースカフェ Batorāsu Kafe is the male version of the maid cafe in Tokyo. Source 1. The themed cafe is known to only hired foreigners. Just like the maid cafes have anime origins, the Butler Cafe is likely inspired by the  Black Butler anime and manga, though no one explicitly said so. Source 2. The cafe serves European style food with Japanese twist, along with tea and coffee. The cafe aims to bring joy and excitement to the otherwise busy and seemingly mundane life of working female professionals in Japan. Controversies? Definitely. A cafe that only hires blonde and caucasian foreigners or girly looking guys with dyed blonde hair, it surely makes some uneasy, just like the maid cafes and many novelty attractions in Tokyo do not fail to raise eyebrows. A salary woman can ring a bell to summon a tuxedo or swallow tail wearing caucasian in seconds.
